Our Leadership

Topologe’s CEO and president, Alejandro Sarmiento, has been working alongside private commercial, state, and federal clients for 25 years. His background in IT management and network engineering led him to found Topologe, LLC to continue to provide excellent services to private and public clients. Mr. Sarmiento has drawn on his two decades of expertise to serve a wide array of government agencies, including the DOI, the DOT, and the DoD.

Before founding Topologe, LLC, Mr. Sarmiento worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers providing consulting services to prestigious clients. In addition, he delivered IT solutions and Project Management support to the Volpe Center and the FAA. He holds an MS in Computer Science and an MBA from Boston University, and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Microsoft Certified Professional.

Java Developer

This is a position located in Boston, MA

Description

Talent must have knowledge and hands-on experience in working with implementation and development software teams. Individual is responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of existing software code, with duties to design and update software databases under contract and direction from the assigned Lead Software Engineer.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance
  • 4 years experience in Java, Web services, Database, and/or web application development
  • 2 years experience with agile and lean philosophies
  • 2 years experience with DevSecOps tools and processes to include, but not limited to Git, Concourse, SonarQube, Fortify and ThreadFix

Senior Software Engineer

This is a position located in Washington, D.C

Description

Maintain and develop serval software applications. Be responsible to plan, conduct, and coordinate several activities throughout the Systems development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analyzes, designs, develops, tests, and debugs software products. Business Process Reengineering Analyst

This is a full time position located in Washington, D.C.

Description

Work with organization to study mission, value, strategy, and stakeholder requirements, using them to define, measure, analyze, improve, and design controls for operational improvements. Develop business solutions and facilitate process improvement sessions using process mapping and process improvement tools. Qualifications

Technical Writer

This is a full time position located in Washington, D.C.

Description

  • Provides research and writes professional documents, including program reports and procedures, documentation, and training materials.
  • Edits professional documents for content, format, flow and integrity in conformance with best practices.
  • Determines the suitability of material for target audience.
  • Provides additional or missing materials and edit written copy.
  • Focus on driving process changes while working closely business stakeholders
  • Interact with SMEs to ensure document accuracy and usability
  • Manage the document development, maintenance, and change request process for multiple documents simultaneously
  • Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology

Systems Engineer

This is a full time position located in Washington, D.C.

Description

  • Conduct review and analysis of federal application systems
  • Provide expertise in the transition of legacy systems to modern systems
  • Identify and analyze requirements, assessing system design, architecture, and planning evaluating test activities
  • Includes the implementation and design of hardware and software.

Configuration Management Analyst

This is a full time position located in Washington, D.C.

Description

Describes provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits.

  • Identifies and maintains the original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation, and related documentation.
  • Ensures system controls are in place that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.
  • Develops automated process to tracks all problems and changes in product documents and reports changes and current configuration.
  • Supports audit teams to verify that requirements of all baselines have been met. Supports quality assurance process audits

Qualifications

  • 5+ years total experience
  • Ability to pass client security clearance requirements.
  • Strong consulting (2+ years consulting experience), writing, and client handling skills
  • Prior experience administering and maintaining Configuration Management tools and Configuration baselines

IT Help Desk Support

This is a full time position located in Washington, D.C.

Description

The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for the day-to-day support of local and remote users. This position will serve as the initial contact for IT related incidents for support and troubleshooting; including triage and escalation of tickets to other IT team members when needed. Background check will be performed.

  • Support end users by resolving incidents as Tier1 and Tier 2. This includes but not limited to: Windows 7, Office 2010, Google Mail, IPSEC VPN, Adobe Acrobat, user backups, system patches, anti-virus clients, file and print sharing, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, etc.
  • Adhere to standardized workstation configurations and deployment methodologies.
  • Install and configure desktop, notebook, network and local printers.
  • Document trouble ticket issues and subsequent resolutions.
  • Install and configure new hardware and software for workstations; leveraging software deployment systems as applicable.
  • Adhere to change management policies.
  • Participate and contribute in group IT projects.
  • Implement individually assigned projects.

Qualifications

  • Associates's Degree in computer related field required or equivalent experience. Valid MCDST or MCITP (Windows Client), and CompTia A+ preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years related industry experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Windows XP and Office 2007 required. Good working knowledge of Active Directory, Group policies a plus
  • Proficiency in workstation imaging and remote software deployment.
  • Experience adding PC, laptop, and printers to a network.
